Sharon is a Registered Dietitian and co-director of Purple Carrot. Sharon began working in the nutrition field in 2003 and returned to University later in life to become a Dietitian. After graduating, she was a Professional Practice Fellow at the University of Otago, where she taught and coordinated the Applied Nutrition and Disease Management paper. Alongside this, Sharon supervised master's students on their placement in the Nutrition Clinic. In a former life, Sharon was a teacher of English in Japan. Sharon brings this experience, alongside her clinical skills, to this course. She has had countless conversations with students who feel they have the knowledge but lack the skill and confidence to apply this knowledge in the real world. Sharon is passionate about helping you gain these skills so that you can have community support and practice safely and confidently.

Even now, with jobs that she loves, there is always the question of ‘what more could I be doing’, or ‘am I on the right path’? Throughout the course, Alice will be delivering sections, and supporting you on your journey. She is passionate about ensuring that you feel well-supported on your journey, and don’t feel isolated in a profession that at times, can be isolating.
